Kadlec Announces Major Fundraising Campaign to Build World Class Pediatric Center
Kadlec Health System and the Kadlec Foundation today kicked off the community phase of a major fundraising campaign to build a new Pediatric Center in the soon to be completed Kadlec North Tower. The $7 million center was not part of the original Tower project, which includes new operating rooms, an outpatient observation unit and a wing of private patient rooms.
For the past several months, the Foundation, under the leadership of Board Chair Kathy Miller, Campaign Chair Sam Volpentest and a group of Tri-Cities community leaders, has been working to raise the needed funds. To date, $6.4 million has been donated in outright gifts and pledges. Today, the community phase of the campaign, chaired by Rich Slocum, got underway to move the campaign past its goal.
There have been two anonymous gifts of over $1 million each. Other key groups that have stepped up include:
Kadlec Employees $245,000
Kadlec Foundation/Kadlec Health System Board Members $340,000
Campaign Executive Committee $160,000
Construction on the fifth floor Pediatric Center could begin later this year. The rest of the North Tower is due to open in June.
