Members of the volunteer Kadlec Regional Medical Center Auxiliary are celebrating 60 years of service to the community. More than 250 people turned out at a dinner in their honor recently.

The Auxiliary was founded in 1949, and since then, members have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars and tens of thousands of hours to benefit Kadlec and its patients. There are presently more than 220 auxilians, who together have contributed more than 475,000 hours of service to Kadlec.

The auxilary members provide a wide array of services. They include sewing items for every day use at the hospital as well as things for sale in the Kadlec gift shop. In addition, members serve as patient escorts, provide receptionist services at various hospital units, and countless other important duties.
