The Birth Center

The birth of every baby is special at the Kadlec Birth Center. Every year, over 2,200 babies are born at Kadlec, and we know that each is a unique and personal event for families.

All the Amenities

The Birth Center at Kadlec includes 18 family centered birthing suites featuring the latest in obstetrics technology and providing virtually all of the comforts of home. They include Jacuzzi tubs, VCRs and CD players, sleeping accommodations for dads, and a warm environment for families to experience this special time.

Expert Care

Families can relax, knowing that they are part of a highly advanced health care center, with state-of-the-art technology and fully trained professionals immediately at hand. Cesarean surgical suites and the area's only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are located to respond immediately.

Kadlec's lactation consultants (breastfeeding experts) are available to answer questions and lend support to new mothers while they are patients or after they have gone home.

Kadlec was also one of the first hospitals in the state to offer infant hearing tests to newborns. Thanks to a donation from the Bechtel Women's Group and the Kadlec Foundation, the screenings help detect many hearing problems at birth.

Before delivery, take advantage of a tour of our Birth Center and of the many educational opportunities provided by our staff. Classes include childbirth preparation, sibling classes and postpartum depression.
