The Critical Care Unit at Kadlec Medical Center cares for patients who are recovering from major surgery, a major illness such as a heart attack or respiratory failure or who are generally unstable and needing advanced monitoring and intensive treatment.
Our 20 bed unit is equipped with a wide array of sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Our staff has specialized training to care for these critical ill patients.
Located on the second floor of the new wing, the unit has large patient rooms, larger family waiting areas and private family waiting areas.
Because of the complex nature of critical care, Kadlec was the first hospital in the area to include an Intensivist as a part of its medical staff. An intensivist has specialized in treating seriously ill patients and manages the care of patients while they are in Kadlec's CCU. Kadlec has an intensivist on duty 24-hours a day.
