Kadlec is home to the region's only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, treating high-risk newborns who need specialized care.
The NICU accommodates up to 12 babies, plus houses advanced medical equipment used to treat these young patients. The unit includes a parent room for quiet time and consultations with physicians.
The unit is designed to ensure babies get the highest quality care possible. Each isolette has its own lighting controls, rooms have been soundproofed to assure a quiet environment, plus much of the equipment is the most sophisticated on the market.
Our NICU also includes a twin isolette, especially designed to keep the twins together. Studies show that keeping twins together provides some important benefits including faster growth and release from the NICU more quickly.
